2010 Region IV Presidents Cup Finalist Medford, Oregon
With our late invitation to 2010 Region IV Presidents Cup and the many challenges we faced along the way, Viking SC United (Now Cypress Elite Blue) had a very successful tournament. With victories against Laroca Select FC(UT), WSM Fusion (WC OR) and Eastside FC (WA), we had solid and inspirational play from the team. We played through injuries, as our players made sacrifices to benefit the team.
We met South Bay Force Blue in the finals and played some of our best futbol. The pace of the game and control was in our favor through out the 80 minutes. Even playing short in the last 9 or so minutes, we played at a high level. But in this game , one hard luck play can determine the outcome. In the final 2 minutes of stoppage time, that play happened in our opponents favor.
Our run in State Cup, here in California and in Medford, Oregon, is one this team should be proud of.
